  • 1 ½ cups heavy cream (or whipping cream)

  • ½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese, plus more for serving

  • ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

  • Salt, to taste

  • For garnish (optional): Fresh parsley or basil, chopped; red pepper flakes
